Catholic Preschool in Towson
As a Catholic Preschool in Towson, MD, the faculty and staff of Immaculate Conception School (ICS) believe that each child is a unique individual and special child of God. ICS is staffed by certified early education teachers and instructional assistants. Our Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 classes provide the structure and guidance necessary for each child to grow in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.
Foundations of kindergarten readiness are the goal of the preschool program. Developing skills such as fine and gross motor skills and guidance in social and emotional interactions play a fundamental role in your child’s experience. Daily activities include letter and number recognition and formation and letter sounds and number groupings.
Our preschool program offers academic opportunities for all children in a Christ-centered environment. For instance, Bible stories, as well as daily prayers, singing and creative movement are some of the activities that fill the day of an ICS preschool student.
Our preschool also has a designated playground area that is featured on our Campus Gallery page.

Highlights and Extracurriculars
Preschoolers enjoy a fall pumpkin patch and other outdoor field trips, along with an end-of-year picnic celebration.
Our campus features a playground designed just for preschool use, with specially designed equipment for our youngest students.
The ICAA soccer and basketball programs are available for our Pre-K 4 students to experience athletics in an instructional clinic setting.
Several support structures are in place at ICS to enhance the academic, physical and emotional well-being of our students.
Our Inclusion Coordinator oversees development and administration of accommodations for students with special learning needs and documented learning support plans such as IEPs and 504s.
Two professional counselors engage in a wide range of student support activities while also administering guidance programming in the classrooms. Additionally, they oversee the Friendzy program, a social-emotional learning program offering instruction specially designed to engage young students. The overarching goal of Friendzy is to deepen student connection to others and to equip students with the tools needed to develop healthy relationships which in turns helps them to maximize their academic performance.
Our support staff includes two Registered Nurses so that our Health Office is professionally staffed whenever school is in session.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
PBIS is a nationwide program created to enhance the culture of our school by establishing positive supports focusing on prevention rather than punishment. Our motto: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Kind – Because Christ Matters guides all that we do. At ICS, we follow schoolwide procedures and processes so that everyone – students, teachers, staff, parents and administration – understand behavior expectations, which in turn creates a safe, consistent and productive learning environment for all.
