Admissions Checklists

Thank you for your interest in Immaculate Conception School!  The unique talents and gifts each child brings to ICS are what makes us such a special community!  We’re excited at the prospect of having your child join the ICS family and wish to make the admissions process as smooth as possible.  Applications for the 2022-2023 school year will be live online as of October 1st, 2021.

Use the checklists below to help guide you through the admissions process. 

Pre-K Admissions Checklist

 The Preschool Program at ICS is rated as a Level 5 Star Maryland Excels Program by the Maryland State Department of Education. As an Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic school, we are very proud to be recognized by the MSDE with a Level 5 Star Rating distinction for four consecutive years.

All Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 students must be potty trained prior to the first day of school.

Please complete the following steps to apply to the ICS preschool:
Submit the ICS online application.
Submit a copy of the following documents through the School Admin Parent Portal, which will be established within the application process. Please submit only scanned copies of documents (pdf), no photos.
        Birth certificate
        Baptismal certificate (required for Catholic students but optional for students of other faiths)
        Any individualized education plans such as an IEP or 504 or results of any
psychological or educational testing (if applicable)

 

Kindergarten Admissions Checklist

Please complete the following steps to apply to kindergarten at ICS:

Submit the ICS online application.

Submit a copy of the following documents through the School Admin Parent Portal, which will be established within the application process. Please submit only scanned copies of documents (pdf), no photos.
        Birth certificate
        Baptismal certificate (required for Catholic students but optional for students of other faiths)
        Any individualized education plans such as an IEP or 504 or results of any
psychological or educational testing (if applicable)
        Teacher Recommendation Form – this will be made available on November 1st for your child’s teacher to
complete                                                                                           electronically and email back to us at admissions@theimmaculate.org

 Kindergarten readiness screening for all applicants is being held on Saturday morning, January 8, 2022 at ICS. 
All kindergarten students must be five years old by September 1, per Maryland State law.

Grades 1 through 5 Admissions Checklist

 ICS, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, can provide your child with the foundation they need to succeed academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually in school and in life. 

Please complete the following steps to apply to the ICS Elementary School:

  • Submit the ICS online application.
  • Submit a copy of the following through the School Admin Parent Portal which will be established within the application process:
    –Most recent report card from current grade
    –Year-end full-year report card from prior grade (not required for applicants to 1st grade
    –Most recent standardized test scores (if applicable)
    –Birth certificate
    –Baptismal certificate (required for Catholic students but optional for students of other faiths)
    Any individualized education plans such as an IEP or 504 or results of any psychological or educational testing (if applicable)   
  • Arrange with your child’s teacher to provide a Teacher Recommendation Form – this will be made available on November 1st for your child’s teacher to complete electronically and email back to us at admissions@theimmaculate.org
  • Schedule Readiness and Admissions Testing (scheduling links will be posted on October 1st):
    Readiness testing for grades 1 and 2 will be held at ICS on the morning of January 8, 2022 only.
    Admissions and placement testing for grades 3 through 8 will be offered at ICS on two Saturdays, November 20, 2021 and January 8, 2022. Applicants may choose either date.
  • Additional Requirements for Applicants to Grades 3 through 5:
    Parent attendance at a 1st Look Virtual Visit. Schedule at this link: Registration for 1st Look Virtual Visit
    Completion of a parent/child admissions interview (scheduling links will be posted on October 1st)

Though we cannot offer a traditional shadow day experience at this time due to COVID 19 protocols, we have posted an Elementary School Student Life page, located HERE, relevant for grades kindergarten through 5 to provide a look at the elementary student experience at ICS.  Please also visit our other Admissions pages for video looks at our facilities and virtual tours and testimonials! 

Middle School Admissions Checklist

 ICS, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, can provide your child with the foundation they need to succeed academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually in school and in life. 

Please complete the following steps to apply to the ICS Middle School:

  • Submit the ICS online application.
  • Submit a copy of the following through the School Admin Parent Portal which will be established within the application process:
    –Most recent report card from current grade
    –Year-end full-year report card from prior grade (not required for applicants to 1st grade
    –Most recent standardized test scores (if applicable)
    –Birth certificate
    –Baptismal certificate (required for Catholic students but optional for students of other faiths)
    Any individualized education plans such as an IEP or 504 or results of any psychological or educational testing (if applicable)   
  • Arrange with your child’s Math and ELA teachers to provide Teacher Recommendation Forms – these will be made available on November 1st for your child’s teacher to complete electronically and email back to us at admissions@theimmaculate.org
  • Schedule Admissions and Placement Testing (scheduling links will be posted on October 1st):
    Tests will be offered at ICS on two Saturdays: November 20, 2021 and January 8, 2022. Applicants may choose either date.
