Assistance Center of Towson Churches:

Our parish is an active member of ACTC, an organization of over 40 churches offering emergency aid to those who are in need. Services include distribution of food; financial help for rent, utilities and medical supplies; clothing assistance; mentoring; back to school supplies for children; and meals for the homeless. Contact Fr. Joe Barr at office@theimmaculate.org

Food Closet

Parishioners supply the Food Closet with monthly donations of nonperishable food. This committee manages the storage and distribution of food which is given directly to the needy and to distribution centers in the Baltimore area. Cash donations are always welcome. Giving Tree/Adopt-A-Family

Giving Tree/Adopt-A-Family supports 17 Baltimore City and County agencies during Advent. The specific needs of these agencies are placed on ornaments on Christmas trees in the narthex and school. Three of the agencies refer very needy families which are “adopted” by parish groups and families, school classrooms and businesses. Volunteers are always needed and can contact Stephanie Boblooch, Fmb115@comcast.net

Good Samaritans

This is a group of parishioners who give their time and service to fellow parishioners who need a helping hand. Committee members are happy to provide transportation to doctor’s appointments, shopping, and church. Telephone companions are also available. Contact Mike Brazeal at mikeb939@verizon.net

Meals On Wheels

Volunteers deliver meals to the aged and convalescent. The center which the Immaculate serves has approximately 80 clients daily. Clients are served one hot and one cold meal five days a week. One driver and one visitor are needed each day for the eight routes served. Volunteers are always needed. Contact Ann Bengel at cgbengel12@verizon.net

My Sister’s Place

This day program for homeless women and children in Baltimore City provides shower and laundry facilities, case management and life skills workshops. Committee members provide, prepare and serve lunch on the second Tuesday of every month and also collect gifts at Christmas time. Food and cash donations are always appreciated, and volunteers are always needed. Contact Stacey Roig at Stacey.roig@gmail.com

Our Daily Bread

Our Daily Bread is the largest feeder of Maryland’s homeless serving about 700 people per day. We provide/serve a meal on the 1st Sunday of each month. Immaculate Conception has partnered with Our Daily Bread in providing monthly meatloaf dinners since 1981 and answers their request for men’s flannel shirts, gloves and hats during Advent. Volunteers are always welcome to join the team. Contact Gat Meredith at 410-667-4183 or Gatmeredith2@verizon.net
