Liturgical Ministries

As we come together to worship the Lord as a community of faith, there are many opportunities to serve and participate in the liturgical life of the parish.

Altar Servers
Students in the fourth grade and older who attend a Catholic school or are enrolled in the Religious Education program may serve.

Altar Society
This committee launders altar linens and albs for the clergy and the altar servers.

Encounter Ministry
The purpose of Encounter Ministry is to ensure each person who comes through our doors has an authentic encounter with Christ in the face of our parishioners as well as at the Eucharistic table.  Encounter Ministry combines and expands the tasks commonly associated with the greeters and ushers.  This ministry is more than holding doors, handing out song sheets and taking up the collection.  The goal of this ministry is to embody Christ in our actions and to create an atmosphere of joyful welcome.

We currently offer Encounter at the 5:30 pm Sunday Praise Mass, with a long range goal of rolling out the ministry to all of our Masses. We welcome outgoing, joyful people with a love for Christ to join our growing ministry. Interested? Please contact, Lauren Mckeegan, or Patty McCarty, for more details.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priests of the Parish with the distribution of communion at Mass. They also bring communion to the homebound and sick in a visit of prayer and pastoral care.

Hospitality Committees
The Hospitality Committee assists with events that build community among our worshippers. The committee serves refreshments at all Masses the second Sunday of each month (Hospitality Sunday). The committee also supports and serves refreshments at various ad hoc parish events throughout the year. Please contact Gat Meredith,, or Kathleen Cahill,, if you would like to share your time and self in this ministry.

Members of this hospitality ministry greet those arriving for Sunday Mass.

Lectors participate in the Weekday, Saturday and Sunday Masses, as well as, other special liturgies during the year.

Sacristans prepare the church for liturgies.

Liturgy Committee
This committee is responsible for planning and coordinating our liturgies. The activities of the committee include planning of the seasonal activities such as Advent, Station of the Cross, Holy Week and the Easter Triduum, as well as the Christmas and Easter liturgies.

Ushers assist the parish by providing hospitality, discretely maintaining order and dignity at all liturgies, and handling emergencies.
