ICS employs registered nurses on duty five days per week in the health room. Students must ask permission of their teacher and receive a pass before going to the Health Room. The nurse will attend to the student and decide if the child is to return to class or be sent home. NO student is ever sent home alone. An adult must come to take the student home. If any injury to the head or any other serious injury occurs to a student, the nurse will call the parent/guardian and send home a report. If the parent/guardian or alternative contact person cannot be reached in an emergency, the school will contact police/ambulance for assistance.
Parents are required to complete a health form listing any allergies, serious medical conditions, medications, and emergency contact information. The school must be notified of changes that occur during the school year.
