Every year the U. S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools, schools demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. More than 7,500 schools across the country have been presented with the coveted National Blue Ribbon Award. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content. The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today recognized 337 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2014 based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. These schools demonstrate that all students can achieve to high levels.

We are thrilled to announce that Immaculate Conception School was recognized as a Blue Ribbon Exemplary High Performing School.

During the awards ceremony in Washington D.C. in November, the Blue Ribbon Schools will receive a plaque and flag from the U.S. Department of Education.  Honored schools serve as models of excellence for other schools throughout the nation.

This year, Immaculate Conception School is one of only 50 private schools in the nation to receive this designation.

Immaculate Conception School joins the ranks of other honored Catholic Schools to have earned Blue Ribbon status since the program began in 1982.
