Curriculum

The Three-Year-Old Program
This program is theme-based and focuses on recognition of numbers, letters, colors and shapes. Children are taught phonological awareness and are introduced to science, art, music, Spanish and creative expression.

Cognitive development is facilitated through the use of senses, fine and gross motor skill development as well as listening skills and the ability to follow directions. The “I Am Special” religious program is used throughout the year to spotlight each child, and classroom visitors round-out the program.

The Four-Year-Old Program
In the Four-Year-Old Program, students continue to work on number and letter identification and letter and sound relationship. They are also introduced to handwriting skills and the correct formation of letters and numbers. Identification of colors and shapes and letter and sound relationship are taught.

Children benefit from weekly physical education classes and daily play. Problem solving, values and independent thinking are encouraged and children use music, dramatic play and creative expression to further their learning experience.

The Pre-Kindergarten Program
The Pre-K program is designed to aid those children who are not developmentally ready, or age eligible, for kindergarten. The goal for this five-day program is to build upon the skills set forth in our younger programs and to further prepare our children for a full day kindergarten program.

Students continue to work on the identification and formation of letters and numbers and are introduced to Spanish and sign language. Students in this program benefit from singing and creative movement, in-house visitors, a field trip and weekly physical education classes. There is also a focus on Bible stories and daily prayers.
