About Our School

Immaculate Conception School is a private, parochial school located in Towson, Maryland, the county seat of Baltimore County. Our school has 560 students ranging in age from three-year-old preschoolers through the eighth grade. Immaculate was chosen as one of the "76 Best Elementary Schools" in the Baltimore metropolitan area by Baltimore Magazine. Our campus includes the parish church, our preschool building, and a couple of main buildings. Rev. Joseph Barr is the pastor and the Head of School. Mrs. Madeline Meaney is the principal of Immaculate Conception School. Mrs. Deborah Thomas is the assistant principal.

Immaculate Conception School (ICS) is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools.  In the evaluation, Middle States reported that ICS maintains a team-oriented atmosphere and exceeds its established goals.  The schools goals are as follows.

  1. Provide all students with opportunities for a strong faith life.
  2. Continue to champion superior standards of academic excellence and growth development.
  3. Continue to incorporate writing into the curriculum.
  4. Keep pace with the technology goals of the Archdiocese for elementary schools by continued teacher training and updating of equipment and applications.
  5. Establish an endowment.
