Young Adult Ministry

Looking to grow in your faith while socializing with other young adults? Discipleship strives to bring together all local Catholics, ages 21 to 35, to share in faith, service, and fun! We host weekly Bible studies and monthly worship, service, and social events.

Weekly Bible Study

Our weekly Bible study meets every Wednesday at 7:30 PM in the Nelligan room, located in the Parish Office Building. Our current topic is: “Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John,” by Edward Sri. We hope that you will take a break from a busy work week and join us for a time of discussion, prayer, and spiritual growth. If you’d like more information about our Bible study sessions, please e-mail

Worship Night

Discipleship’s Worship Nights are held regularly on the second Saturday of every month. We have changed the time for our Worship Night on Saturday, July 8th, as the parish will be holding a crab feast from 6:30-8 PM to support Pregnancy Center North. We encourage you to attend the crab feast before joining us for Worship Night at 8 PM in the main church. We will have a guest speaker, adoration with worship music, benediction, and opportunities for confession, followed by a time to socialize with a bonfire and S’mores. Please check out the parish calendar or join The Immaculate Conception Discipleship Group on Facebook to stay updated on our Worship Nights. For more information, please e-mail

  • Marian Pilgrimage, Sunday, June 25th – In place of our monthly Worship Night for June, Discipleship will be making a pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and the St. John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C. We will be meeting in the IC parking lot and departing by 8:45 AM. The day will include Mass at the Basilica at 10:30 AM, lunch at Busboys & Poets, touring the Basilica, and a rosary walk to the JPII Shrine. Please RSVP to Tony at by Friday, June 23rd.

Praise Mass

Do you feel called to serve during Mass? We’d love for more young adults to partake in the Mass by offering Holy Communion, or serving as a lector, usher, or greeter. You can request to serve every 3rd Sunday of the month during the 5:30 PM Praise Mass with other young adults, and/or choose to be randomly assigned to various masses. If interested, please contact Fr. Francis at to set up a time to be trained (it takes about 20 minutes).

Our next Praise Mass will be held on Sunday, July 16th, at 5:30 PM in the main church. If you have been trained as a Eucharistic Minister, lector, usher or greeter, please sign-up for this Mass! Even if you will not be serving in one of these capacities, we encourage you to attend Mass with the rest of the Discipleship group (we will have pews reserved for our group). Afterwards, we will get dinner together at a local restaurant.

Social and Service Events

From attending community events such as Orioles games and Relay for Life to serving at places like Our Daily Bread and local pregnancy centers, Discipleship’s social and service events offer a variety of ways to get involved and serve others. To stay up to date on Discipleship’s latest events, please join The Immaculate Conception Discipleship Group on Facebook or refer to the calendar on the parish website.
