Young Adult Ministry

Looking to grow in your faith while connecting with other young adults? Discipleship strives to bring together all local Catholics, ages 21 to 35, to share in faith, service, and fun! We host weekly Bible studies and monthly worship, service, and social events.

Join The Immaculate Conception Discipleship Group on Facebook and/or contact Amy at to be added to our e-mail list.

You can also subscribe to our new Google Calendar to keep up to date with our events.

Weekly Bible Study

Our weekly Bible study sessions are held every Wednesday in the Nelligan room, located in the Parish Office Building. We hope that you will take a break from your busy work week and join us for a time of discussion, prayer, and spiritual growth! Our current study series is: “Peter: Keys to Following Jesus,” by Tim Gray.

Worship Night

Discipleship’s Worship Nights are held regularly on the second Saturday of every month. Due to a scheduling conflict, our Worship Night for April will be held on the first Saturday of the month, Saturday, April 7th, at 7 PM in the main church. We will have a guest speaker, adoration with worship music, benediction, and opportunities to go to confession, followed by a time to socialize.

Praise Mass

Do you feel called to serve during Mass? We’d love for more young adults to partake in the Mass by offering Holy Communion, reading the Word of God, or being the face of Christ to others through our new Encounter Ministry!

If you become a Eucharistic Minister or lector, you can request to serve every 3rd Sunday of the month during the 5:30 PM Praise Mass with other young adults, and/or choose to be randomly assigned to various masses. If interested, please contact Fr. Francis at to set up a time to be trained.

  • Sunday, May 20th - Praise Mass – This coming Sunday, the church is hosting an event with food, fellowship and the chance to learn about, and, if you are interested, be trained for the new Encounter Ministry. The event will be held from 3:30-5 PM in the main church. Afterwards, you can join the Discipleship group for Mass at 5:30 PM. We typically sit towards the front near the center aisle. If you have been trained at Immaculate Conception as a Eucharistic Minister or lector, we encourage you to sign-up for this Mass in advance. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Social and Service Events

From attending community events such as Orioles games and Relay for Life to serving at places like Our Daily Bread and local pregnancy centers, Discipleship’s social and service events offer a variety of ways to get involved and serve others.

Saturday, April 28th – Join us as we celebrate Discipleship’s 2nd Anniversary! We will be attending 5 PM Mass together in the main church, before moving to the parish hall for a Fiesta with a taco bar, piñata, music and more. Please RSVP to Marissa at, or on our Facebook page, by Wednesday, April 25th. Walk-ins are also welcome!

Saturday, May 19th – Save the Date for a spring retreat with Discipleship! More details to follow.
