Young Adult Ministry

Looking to grow in your faith while connecting with other young adults? Discipleship strives to bring together all local Catholics, ages 21 to 35, to share in faith, service, and fun! We host weekly Bible studies and monthly worship, service, and social events.

Join The Immaculate Conception Discipleship Group on Facebook and/or contact Amy at to be added to our e-mail list.

You can also subscribe to our new Google Calendar to keep up to date with our events.

Weekly Bible Study

Our weekly Bible study sessions are held every Wednesday at 7 PM in the Nelligan room, located in the Parish Office Building. We hope that you will take a break from your busy work week and join us for a time of discussion, prayer, and spiritual growth! Our current study series is: “The Last 7 Words of Jesus.”

Please note: We will not be holding Bible study on Wednesday, February 14th. Instead, we encourage you to attend the church’s Ash Wednesday service at 7 PM. There will also be services at 8:30 AM and 12:10 PM if you cannot make the night service.

Theology of the Body & Holistic Sexuality Series

We are currently hosting a speaker, Molly, who is helping us learn about the Theology of the Body and Holistic Sexuality! The program is for both men and women. Our last session for the winter (we hope to resume again in the spring) will be held on Tuesday, February 13th, in the Deacon John Grambling Room (the dining room) in the Parish Office Building. Please contact Kayla at if you have any questions.

Worship Night

Discipleship’s Worship Nights are held regularly on the second Saturday of every month. Our next Worship Night will be this Saturday, February 10th, at 7 PM in the main church. We will have a guest speaker to give us tips on preparing for Lent, adoration with worship music, benediction, and opportunities to go to confession. Afterwards, we will head to Kayla’s apartment in Towson for refreshments and a movie (or board games). We hope to see you there!

Praise Mass

Do you feel called to serve during Mass? We’d love for more young adults to partake in the Mass by offering Holy Communion, or serving as a lector, usher, or greeter. You can request to serve every 3rd Sunday of the month during the 5:30 PM Praise Mass with other young adults, and/or choose to be randomly assigned to various masses. If interested, please contact Fr. Francis at to set up a time to be trained.

  • Sunday, February 18th - Praise Mass – Join us at 5:30 PM Mass in the main church! We typically sit towards the front immediately to the right of the middle aisle (the ushers will be able to direct you to where we are sitting). If you have been trained at Immaculate Conception as a Eucharistic Minister or lector, we encourage you to sign-up for this Mass in advance. If not, please check with the ushers when you arrive to see if any other help is needed (at this time you do not need to be trained to serve as an usher or greeter).

Social and Service Events

From attending community events such as Orioles games and Relay for Life to serving at places like Our Daily Bread and local pregnancy centers, Discipleship’s social and service events offer a variety of ways to get involved and serve others. To stay up to date on Discipleship’s latest events, please join The Immaculate Conception Discipleship Group on Facebook, subscribe to our Google calendar, or ask to be added to our e-mail list. • Saturday, February 24th - Laser Tag Night – Join Discipleship at Red Zone in Timonium for a night of laser tag! If you would like to carpool, we will be meeting at the church’s small parking lot at 3:30 PM; otherwise, we will see you there at 4 PM. Cost is $15 for unlimited games from 4-7 PM. Afterwards, we will head to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Please RSVP to Marissa at, or on our Facebook page, by Friday, February 23rd.
  • Friday, March 2nd - Service Event: Lenten Dinner & Stations of the Cross – Volunteer with Discipleship and the RCIA team as we serve the parish’s Lenten Dinner! The dinner will start at 6:30 PM, so please arrive at 5:30 PM to allow for set-up and prep time. Afterwards, we will be attending Stations of the Cross together in the main church. We are also looking for 5 to 15 volunteers to help with the readings. Please RSVP to Theresa at, or on our Facebook page, by Monday, February 26th, and let her know if you will be able to help volunteer at the dinner and/or help with one of the readings.
  • Thursday, March 29th - Holy Thursday Church Hopping – We will begin the night by attending Holy Thursday Mass at 7:30 PM in the main church and then spending 15 minutes afterwards in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. From there, we will travel to several nearby churches to visit Jesus, spending 15 minutes in adoration before Him at each stop. For the Mass, we are looking for 4 volunteers to help with carrying banners in the procession of the ministries, 1 volunteer for the washing of the feet, and as many other volunteers as possible to help with holding the lanterns after Mass to direct everyone to the parish hall. Please RSVP to Marissa at by Tuesday, March 27th, so we know how many people to expect for carpooling to the churches. Also, if you are able to help volunteer, please let her know when you RSVP.
  • Good Friday, March 30th - Viewing of the Passion – Join Discipleship for the Good Friday service (starting at 3 PM in the main church), followed by a viewing of a Passion movie in the Nelligan Room in the Parish Office Building (exact movie TBD).
