Young Adult Ministry

Looking to grow in your faith while connecting with other young adults? Discipleship strives to bring together all local Catholics, ages 21 to 35, to share in faith, service, and fun! We host weekly Bible studies and monthly worship, service, and social events.

Join The Immaculate Conception Discipleship Group on Facebook and/or contact Amy at to be added to our e-mail list.

You can also subscribe to our new Google Calendar to keep up to date with our events.

Weekly Bible Study

Our weekly Bible study sessions are held every Wednesday at 7 PM in the Nelligan room, located in the Parish Office Building. We hope that you will take a break from your busy work week and join us for a time of discussion, prayer, and spiritual growth!

Our current study series is: “Peter: Cornerstone of Catholicism,” by Dr. Tim Gray.

Worship Night

Discipleship’s Worship Nights are held regularly on the second Saturday of every month. This month, however, we will be having a retreat in place of our Worship Night, so our next Worship Night will be held, Saturday, June 9th, at 7 PM in the main church. We will have a guest speaker, adoration with worship music, benediction, and opportunities to go to confession, followed by a time to socialize.

  • Saturday, May 19th - Spring Retreat – Looking to get away for some quiet time, prayer and reflection? Join us for Discipleship’s spring retreat, “Totus Tuus: Responding to the Call,” at St. Mary’s Spiritual Center in Baltimore!
    • We will be meeting at the Immaculate Conception parking lot at 9 AM (breakfast will be provided and we will depart at 9:20 AM) and carpooling to the retreat center. The retreat will begin at 10 AM and include several witness talks, adoration, a rosary walk, opportunities for confession, time for meditation/reflection, and evening Mass. Afterwards, we will head back to Towson for dinner, before returning to the church.
    • The retreat is free and includes breakfast and lunch, but please bring cash for dinner. Please RSVP to Tony Forte at by Thursday, May 17th.

Praise Mass

Do you feel called to serve during Mass? We’d love for more young adults to partake in the Mass by offering Holy Communion, reading the Word of God, or being the face of Christ to others through our new Encounter Ministry!

Eucharistic Minister/Lector: If you are interested in being trained, please contact Fr. Francis at for more details. You can request to serve every 3rd Sunday of the month during the 5:30 PM Praise Mass with other young adults, and/or choose to be randomly assigned to various masses.

Encounter Ministry: The Encounter Ministry is a new initiative, which encompasses the tasks of greeting, handing out song sheets, seating people, doing the collection, handing out bulletins, etc. The goal is to use these “tasks” as opportunities to BE CHRIST to the congregation! Please contact Lauren McKeegan for more details on this exciting new ministry.

  • Please note: We are skipping our monthly Praise Mass in May, since it will fall the day after our group retreat, which will include Sunday Mass.
  • Sunday, June 17th - Praise Mass – Join Discipleship for Mass at 5:30 PM in the main church! We typically sit towards the front near the center aisle. If you have been trained at Immaculate Conception as a Eucharistic Minister or lector, we encourage you to sign-up for this Mass in advance, or ask if any help is needed when you arrive. Also, if you’ve been trained as an Encounter Minister, please check in when you arrive to see if you can assist in any way. Since this is Father’s Day, the Mass will include a special blessing for all fathers.

Social and Service Events
