School of Religion

The School of Religion has two programs - The Sunday School and the Family Study Workshop for students who attend non-Catholic, private, public or home-schools.  The Sunday School Program is geared for parents to elect to have children in a traditional classroom format each Sunday from late September thru April.  The Family Faith Monthly Program is geared for parents to be provided monthly assignments by the religious education program for home-based formation and meet for monthly family-based workshops.

The emphasis of these programs is to impart knowledge and meaning of basic Catholic doctrine and an understanding of how to live one's faith according to age level and capacity of reception.  Family Workshops are facilitated by carefully selected and trained individuals.  Families will participate in grade appropriate small group environments.  Student texts will include Christ Our Life (published by Loyola Press) and Family Life (published by RCL Benziger).  Family field trips, family nights, and class ministry at masses will also compliment these programs. Students will also have access to parish ministries, vocations activities, and service projects throughout the year as an ongoing family faith ministry.

Volunteer as a Group Facilitator or Catechist

Our programs cannot continue to provide faith sharing opportunities for our families with children without the many volunteers who make it happen.  We will always ask for your support as a facilitator or catechist.  Please prayerfully consider volunteering in one or more of these ministries.  Most require only a little bit of time and minimal effort but would make a tremendous difference in our program.

For more information please contact Marissa Johansen, 410-427-4726.
