Our Daily Bread
Sunday, July 1, is ODB Sunday at the Immaculate. Volunteer chefs are needed to prepare meat loaves and/or donate instant mashed potatoes, string beans, staples (salt, pepper. tea, sugar, and plastic sandwich bags), or make cash donations for much needed items at ODB. Recipes and pans for the meat loaves are in the Narthex. All contributions may be taken to the parking lot of the Bykota Center, located at Joppa Road and Central Avenue on July 1 from 7:30 am to 9:30 am. If you are able to prepare a meat loaf, please sign up on the pad in the Narthex. For additional information, call Jo Miller (410 825 4320). Thank you! Substitute drivers are needed to pick up surplus food from a local grocery store and deliver them to ODB. If you can spare about 1 1/2 on an occasional basis, please call Jo Miller (410 825 4320). This is a great way to help our needy brothers and sisters.
Please bring your donations of non-perishables to Mass June 16/17, and place in the "Food Closet" baskets in the narthex. This month your food donations will be sent to the ACTC, Assistance Center of Towson Churches. Suggested donations: canned tuna or meat, peanut butter and jelly, packages of powdered milk, spaghetti and sauce, macaroni and cheese, canned beans, soups, vegetables and fruit, cereals, juices or any non-perishables. No institutional sized cans, please. Cash donations are accepted; please put the donation of cash or checks made out to Immaculate Conception in an envelope marked "FOOD" and place in the collection basket. Monetary donations are given to ACTC and St. Thomas Aquinas. Your generosity and support of the food closet is greatly appreciated! Next month Food Sunday weekend is July 14/15.
Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The Sodality will gather to celebrate Mass together on Saturday, June 2 at 8:30 am, preceded by recitation of the Rosary. After Mass we will continue our monthly continental breakfast and study of apparitions of the Blessed Mother in the convent building. All sodalists and friends are welcome.
On Monday evenings at 7:00 pm, we offer a prayer service known as a Novena in our Adoration Chapel. A Novena is usually nine separate periods of prayer that can be prayed either privately or as a formal service. Our weekly service is one segment of the Novena in honor of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and includes a Eucharistic Adoration known as Benediction. This short service is an easy way to show by example that prayer is not just for Sundays. Please join us!
